Why do horses make great teachers? Recent studies indicate that 93% of communication effectiveness is determined by non-verbal cues! Through fifty million years of evolution, horses have highly developed non-verbal communication skills that make them natural geniuses at communication. Because horses have extraordinary sensitivity to non-verbal cues, and respond to communication in the same manner as we do, they can provide you with a mirror reflection of your body language, offering immediate insight to your communication skills and helping you connect more effectively with others. Horses also possess an acute need for balance leadership. In the wild it is important to follow a good leader that you can trust to keep you alive! Most of our human examples of leadership either air on the side of dictatorship -an unspoken my way or the highway attitude. Or, forced-teaming, bribing, coddling and just about anything to create a false sense of friendship. Nature seems to set the tone of a much more authentic and balanced style of leadership. When we clear out our fears of not being liked or respected we set a new tone. One that includes trusting ourselves and exuding confidence and clarity in everything we do. Setting this example, by simply tending to your own true nature, can be surprisingly powerful causing others to team up and synchronize with your authentic leadership energy. |
